Who is the Didaskalos?

Nagy Souraty began his ‘Experimental Agonistic Theatre’ in 2002. 
This unique method that is dubbed “Souratism” 
by the many actors and crewmembers that have worked with Nagy Souraty, primarily by his students in LAU and those who have worked on his Major production,
has become a system that evolves and provokes the mind, 
pushes and challenges the body, 
and inspires and strengthens the heart.

Nagy Souraty was born in Beirut. 
He obtained his Masters of Arts in "Drama & Theatre Studies" 
from the Royal Holloway University of London in 1998.
He is a graduate in Communication Arts from the Beirut University College - BUC/LAU
(1992, double major: Theatre and Radio, TV & Film). 

Nagy Souraty is the coordinator of the artistic education 
at the Collège Protestant Français 
where he is responsible for the Theatre & Audiovisual emphasis 
as part of the French Baccalaureate. 
Nagy Souraty is also the Artistic Consultant 
& member of the board at the Al Madina Theatre in Beirut.

Nagy Souraty has been teaching since 1992, 
as well as Directing and Acting.
